Job Overview
Prescott Machine designs and manufactures high-performance industrial mixers and custom,
made-to-order industrial machinery. Serving highly technical industries from aerospace to
powder coating, our builds require extreme precision.
We are seeking a hands-on Project Manager who bridges the gap between the front office
and the production floor. This role requires a unique combination of machining knowledge,
procurement expertise, and project billing acumen. You won’t just be sitting behind a desk
tracking spreadsheets; you will regularly interact with the shop floor, handle heavy materials
when necessary, and ensure our custom builds are delivered accurately and on budget.
Job Details
● Job Type: Full-time
● Salary: $20 hourly
● Shift & Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
● Work Location: On-site (Prescott Machine Shop Floor & Office)
Key Responsibilities
● Project Oversight: Manage the fabrication lifecycle of custom industrial mixers and
made-to-order equipment, ensuring compliance with strict aerospace and industrial
standards.
● Machining & Technical Liaison: Utilize your understanding of machining processes, raw
materials (stainless steel, specialized alloys), and blueprints to communicate effectively
with manual/CNC machinists and engineers.
● Procurement & Purchasing: Source and purchase specialized components, raw metals,
and custom parts. Negotiate lead times and pricing with vendors to keep production
moving.
● Job Costing & Billing: Oversee full-cycle project billing, including complex progress
tracking, verifying vendor invoices against purchase orders, and managing client
invoicing.
● Shop Support: Assist with inventory management, receiving heavy material shipments,
and verifying that incoming components match engineering specs.Physical Requirements & Environment
● Must be able to safely and regularly lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds unassisted.
● Comfortable working in an active, fast-paced industrial machine shop environment
(exposure to shop noise, metal debris, and industrial equipment).
● Ability to stand, walk the shop floor, and inspect heavy equipment builds throughout the
day.
Qualifications & Skills
● Machining Background: Practical knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication, or
industrial manufacturing processes is required.
● Experience: 3+ years of experience in project management or shop operations within a
custom manufacturing or job-shop environment.
● Financial Literacy: Proven expertise in purchasing, vendor management, job costing,
and client billing.
● Industry Context: Experience handling projects for strict-spec industries like aerospace,
powder coating, or heavy industrial processing is a major plus.
