Role Overview
AVESI has an opportunity for a Lab Analyst Technician fulltime position in the St. Louis, MO metropolitan area. The Lab Analyst Technician is an hourly position.
The Laboratory Analyst or Technician performs laboratory tests according to prescribed standards to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of solid, liquid, or gaseous materials and substances for purposes such as quality control, process control, product development, or determining conformity to specifications. This incumbent sets up and adjusts laboratory apparatus, and operates grinders, agitators, centrifuges, ovens, condensers, and vibrating screens to prepare material for testing according to established laboratory procedure.
Key Responsibilities
· Must be able to comprehend and work to safety standards and lab protocols
· Must be able to follow laboratory protocols to ensure the integrity of data quality
· Must be able to successfully complete the process of sample handling, processing and analyzation
· Must be able to organize and prioritize workload during shift to ensure efficiency
Skills / Qualifications
· Prefer degree in Chemistry, Env Science, Biology, Soil Sciences, or related
· Minimum 1-year laboratory (or similar) experience
· Must be a self-starter with good written and verbal communication skills
· Attention to detail and strong time management capabilities required
· Must be capable of conducting, without supervision, daily objectives and generating data analysis within required protocols and processes.
· Must be competent in working to procedures and quality standards
· Must be able to work shift work
· Must pass Federal Facility drug test, annual physicals/training, and background check
Starting pay for qualified individuals is $27.28/hr; 40 hour week
