An early-career Junior Mechanical Design Engineer is needed to support a growing manufacturing organization that develops custom-engineered solutions in industrial power transmission and automation systems.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer to gain hands-on experience in product design, engineering analysis, and manufacturing support within a collaborative engineering environment.
Recent graduates with a Mechanical Engineering degree are encouraged to apply. Candidates with one or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment are highly preferred.
The Junior Mechanical Design Engineer will work closely with engineering and product development teams to create and refine mechanical and electromechanical designs.
The role combines design work, modeling, testing support, and collaboration with manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality, customer-focused solutions.
Keys to Success in This Role
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience with design reviews and Bill of Materials (BOM) creation
Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
Experience working within enterprise ERP systems
Ability to work early morning/day shift schedules
Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and refine mechanical and electromechanical designs for custom applications
Create 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
Support prototyping, assembly, and hands-on testing activities
Perform engineering simulations and analyses such as stress, fatigue, and durability evaluations
Manage engineering changes and material selection processes
Support design verification and validation activities
Interpret engineering standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines
Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure smooth product transitions
Assist with inspections and commissioning activities when required
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred
Recent Mechanical Engineering graduates may be considered
Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks
Experience creating Bills of Materials and participating in design reviews
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms)
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work in hands-on manufacturing or prototype environments
Ability to lift light equipment and follow required safety protocols
