Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with heavy-duty carpentry in industrial or commercial environments. This position involves constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures using wood, metal, and other materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Measure, cut, and assemble materials using hand and power tools.
- Build and install concrete forms, scaffolding, platforms, partitions, bracing, and other structures.
- Perform demolition, rough carpentry, and finish carpentry as needed.
- Work with metal studs, plywood, dimensional lumber, and other construction materials.
- Perform layout work and ensure accurate measurements and installations.
- Follow OSHA regulations and all site-specific safety requirements.
- Work alongside welders, electricians, masons, and other trades to complete projects efficiently.
- Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications.
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment when properly certified.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of industrial or commercial carpentry experience required.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
- Experience using measuring tools, levels, saws, drills, and other power/hand tools.
- Ability to read construction drawings and perform layout work.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physically demanding work.
- Comfortable working at heights and in industrial environments.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Vocational training or apprenticeship experience is a plus.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Forklift/scissor lift certification is a plus.
Work Environment
- Industrial job sites, including factories, refineries, shipyards, warehouses, and heavy construction areas.
- May require working at heights, in confined spaces, and around loud or dusty conditions.
- Frequent standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and lifting.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
