Member Duties : The AmeriCorps Volunteer will assist in teaching basic gardening lessons incorporating STEM concepts to students and community members participating in the gardening classes. The AmeriCorps Volunteer will help in all Garden activities from garden bed preparation, planting, weeding, etc., and monitor pest and disease occurrence then report them to the site supervisor. The AmeriCorps Volunteer will comply with the other activities required by the program such as National Day of Service, Civic Engagement Projects, etc. Maintain a record of activities and communicate project needs to the Site Supervisor. Minimum qualifications: Knowledge in gardening & the local environment; excellent written and verbal communication skills (knowledge of Spanish a plus); Computer Skills: Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite; & ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
