Connection Center Coordinator

Location: Elyria, Ohio (in person)
Employment Type: Part-Time (20 hours weekly), Mondays-Thursdays 8:30am-1:30pm
Reports To: Church Engagement Manager
About Us
Love INC is a Christian non-profit dedicated to helping churches help people. We mobilize and equip local churches to assist people in need. We have been active in Lorain County for more than 35 years as an affiliate of the national Love INC organization.
Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the Connection Center Coordinator is to oversee the operation of our Connection Center, where requests for assistance come from the community and are captured by volunteers and verified. Then, efforts are made to refer/connect these individuals and families to partner churches and area agencies to meet needs. The person in this role engages with volunteers, people in need, and church staff as well as with the Love INC team.
Key Responsibilities
- Train, supervise, and provide ongoing support to the church volunteers who serve as the main points of contact with individuals who call the Connection Center
- Using our program management software, review and update client files daily and make referrals to churches and community organizations as appropriate
- Collaborate with other staff to develop and implement volunteer trainings and events
- Through regular review of client files and interacting with clients, identify unmet needs in the community where churches might be able to assist individuals and families
- Maintain accurate and complete client records, data, and reports using our program management system
Qualifications
- Alignment with and support for the Christian mission and values of the organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A professional demeanor and at ease interacting with people in need as well as working with volunteers and churches
- Excellent proficiency with program management software, word processing, and spreadsheets
- A working knowledge and interest in community agencies and resources
- Highly organized and completes work with efficiency and attention to detail
Preferred Qualification
- Experience working in a ministry setting
- Volunteer management experience
