Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered semi trucks(18 WHEELERS). Your expertise will ensure that all machinery operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting our operations across various sectors. Duties
- Perform detailed diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake components using OEM schematics and electrical diagnostics tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as tractors, and trailers to ensure optimal operation.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to meet specific repair requirements.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues including suspension systems, powertrains, HVAC systems, and tire services to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate service records, complete inspection reports, and document repairs following safety standards and company procedures.
- Assist with equipment assembly, alignment checks, heavy lifting tasks, and general maintenance to support ongoing operational needs.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering solutions that maximize equipment lifespan.
Skills
- Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic in a dealership or heavy equipment environment with strong mechanical knowledge.
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, schematics reading, and troubleshooting complex electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; skilled in using power tools and hand tools for repairs.
- Familiarity with construction equipment servicing including excavators, cranes, loaders, and farm machinery; knowledge of OEM parts is preferred.
- Ability to perform diesel engine repairs, brake repairs (including air brake systems), transmissions work, suspension adjustments, and alignment procedures.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics systems, HVAC components on heavy machinery, tire service procedures, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the capability to diagnose issues quickly and accurately while maintaining safety standards.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
