Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and system layouts.
- Perform high-voltage and low-voltage wiring tasks safely while adhering to electrical safety procedures.
- Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults efficiently.
- Work on industrial electrical systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial control panels, and automation equipment.
- Conduct maintenance on existing electrical infrastructure during renovation or construction projects to ensure ongoing safety and functionality.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete installations and repairs with precision.
- Follow all safety protocols related to high-voltage wiring, NFPA 70 compliance standards, and general construction site safety practices.
- Collaborate with team members on schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and framing carpentry as needed for complex installations.
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification demonstrating comprehensive electrical knowledge.
- Proven experience as an electrician in commercial, industrial, or construction environments with a strong understanding of electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, and troubleshooting electrical diagnostics.
- Familiarity with high-voltage electrical wiring and low-voltage systems essential for industrial applications.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards ensuring code-compliant work practices.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical diagrams, and electrical drawings accurately.
- Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects with a focus on safety procedures.
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Strong understanding of local electrical codes combined with excellent problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
- Additional skills such as handyman experience or frame carpentry are considered a plus for versatile project support.
