Our mission-driven team of counselors, interns, and volunteers provides crucial support and intervention to an average of 100,000 callers and texters each year through the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. About This Role:
Crisis Counselors are on the front lines, providing critical support to individuals during their most challenging times. This role requires strong communication skills and emotional resilience. We are looking for empathetic, flexible individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, pay attention to detail, and are looking to build solid relationships for a successful career.
This role isn’t a box to check off, and it isn’t for the faint of heart; it demands true dedication and a commitment to making a difference. Crisis Counselors will find quiet pride in knowing they helped support someone through their darkest moments.
The REAL Crisis Center operates 24 hours a day, and this is a full-time, in-person, position with five eight-hour shifts per week. Shift times may vary.

Responsibilities
- Provide immediate, compassionate support to individuals in emotional distress through phone, text, or chat, ensuring safety and de-escalation.
- Participate in regular training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in crisis counseling and mental health support.
- Maintain emotional resilience while managing high-stress situations effectively.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year
