Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dishwasher/Food Prep team member to support our culinary operations. This role involves maintaining cleanliness standards, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring smooth kitchen functionality. Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment in accordance with food safety standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and techniques
- Follow recipes accurately to prepare meals and ensure consistency in presentation and taste
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, mixers, and other appliances necessary for meal prep
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, prep areas, and storage spaces throughout shifts
- Support meal assembly and plating as directed by culinary staff or dietary aides
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food production and service needs
- Adhere to all safety standards in production, handling food safely at all times
- Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant work, catering, or dietary departments is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety management and proper food handling procedures
- Skills in food preparation including slicing techniques, recipe adherence, and meal assembly
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen environment
- Experience with cleaning protocols specific to food industry standards
- Culinary experience or dietary aide background is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a busy setting while maintaining high safety standards
- Flexibility to work during scheduled shifts that may include early mornings or evenings as needed
