Role Summary
Reporting directly to the Site Manager, the Operations Manager oversees daily depot activities, establishes key performance indicators, and implements effective cost-control strategies. Success in this position requires the ability to execute all core responsibilities effectively, along with other duties as assigned.

Directs daily depot operations and provides essential support to supervisors to ensure budget adherence and service quality.

Analyzes operating metrics and financial data to identify process improvements and enhance overall performance.

Promotes a culture of safety by enforcing strict compliance with internal policies, OSHA guidelines, and industry regulations.

Conducts comprehensive root cause analyses for all incidents to help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team.

Manages departmental personnel needs, including recruitment, performance evaluations, and professional development, while contributing to compensation and promotion decisions.

Collaborates with the Site Manager or Director of Operations to define and execute strategic short-term and long-term objectives.

Reviews P&L statements to ensure financial targets are met and implements initiatives to optimize labor, materials, and equipment maintenance.

Engages with local municipal and county agencies to foster positive community relations and help secure long-term contract stability.

Partners with internal functional teams to address and resolve labor and employee relations matters.
Leadership Scope
This position requires high-level supervisory capabilities, specifically regarding the management of other leaders. This includes:

Qualifications
The following criteria outline the necessary background to succeed in this role.
Background and Education

Education: An accredited Associate degree, or a High School Diploma/GED combined with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in logistics, transportation, or solid waste management, with a focus on leadership, routing, and employee coaching.
Required Skills and Knowledge

Demonstrated experience in operations management, including financial oversight, human resources, and customer relations; proficiency in implementing safety programs, managing equipment specifications, and resolving labor disputes.

Actual base salary is determined by various factors, such as internal equity, regional location, specific skills, qualifications, and organizational requirements.
