Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive patient care tailored to individual needs across various departments, including critical care, geriatrics, pediatrics, and emergency medicine.
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and perform medical procedures such as catheter care and phlebotomy with precision and adherence to protocols.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with patient transfers using safe manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, nurses, therapists, and caregivers—to coordinate care plans and ensure seamless patient experiences.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following aseptic techniques, infection control procedures, and safe lifting practices.
- Respond promptly to emergencies in high-acuity settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or ICU units, demonstrating expertise in acute care protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in specialized healthcare environments such as ICU, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or long-term care facilities.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and patient care procedures across diverse settings including assisted living, hospice, pediatric units, or behavioral health.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR, and other relevant certifications required for patient safety and emergency response.
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems) like Epic or Cerner is highly preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual transfers using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer boards.
- Excellent communication skills for caregiver interactions and patient service excellence.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain strict confidentiality of medical records and patient information.
- Prior experience with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care units or patients with developmental disabilities is a plus.
