OU’s Nursery Coordinator oversees the nursery and special needs ministry on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, monthly staff meetings, VBS, and special events. The Coordinator is expected to be present on Sunday mornings (approximately 8 am – 12:15 pm), as well as for special services, church-wide events, and weddings. Skills and qualifications include early childhood/elementary education degree or at least three years of experience working with children and families; strong organizational, interpersonal, and communications (oral/written) skills; CPR & First Aid training (current certification or willing to get recertification or training).
Specifically, OU's Nursery Coordinator will:
Oversee the nursery and special needs ministry on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, monthly staff meetings, VBS and special events. The Coordinator is expected to be present on Sunday mornings (approximately 8 am – 12:15 pm). For other nights when nursery is an integral part of the programmatic ministry, the coordinator will be present and/or arrange for workers to be present. This includes occasionally the following programs (these are not weekly):
- Wednesday evenings for LifeGroups (approximately 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm)
- Sunday evenings for special events
- Tuesday evenings for choir or handbell practice if necessary
- Christmas Eve service
- Ash Wednesday
- Maundy Thursday
- Good Friday
- Easter Sunday
- Weddings when contacted by the wedding coordinator
- Other special events as they are developed
Adhere to the Safe Sanctuaries Policies and Ministry Safe Training Guidelines and ensure nursery staff are trained in CPR and First Aid.
Hire, train, and supervise the appropriate number of nursery workers per year to maintain the appropriate kids to worker ratio.
Maintain a monthly nursery team schedule and assess needs with the PCFM on a weekly basis.
Coordinate and supervise volunteers for the nursery.
Maintain contact information for participants and other relevant records.
Purchase and maintain necessary equipment.
Interact with parents and assist with the resolution of any problems.
Ensure the nursery is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Early childhood/elementary education degree OR at least three years of experience working with children and families.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communications (oral/written) skills
- Dependable and strong work history.
- CPR & First Aid training (current certification or willing to get recertification or training).
- Physical demands include frequent sitting, standing, walking, and lifting.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
