Primary Function
Chester County Futures (CCF) is a free post-secondary success program for students interested in pursuing their goals after high school graduation. In this dual role, the Student Program Coordinator is the primary point of contact for both the student-mentee and the volunteer mentor participating in the bi-monthly CCF Mentor Program at the Pottstown middle school and for the CCF “Passport” high school program delivered at the Phoenixville high school. The program coordinator will serve as the lead Student Program Coordinator for the Phoenixville high school site and will lead 1x weekly after school meetings, coordinating classroom presenters, delivering program content and participating in schedule program field trips during the school year.
The Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the success of a school-based middle school mentoring program by coordinating and facilitating bi-monthly mentor-mentee meetings throughout the academic year. This position is responsible for delivering structured meeting content and activities that promote student growth, goal setting, skill development, and positive relationship building between adult mentors and student mentees and with matching students with a mentor, screening, training and on-boarding volunteer mentors, monitoring the match for the duration of the term, and supporting the enrolled families, mentors and students through regular communications.
The coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for mentors, students, families, school administrators, and community partners at each school stie, ensuring consistent communication, engagement, and program support. Responsibilities include scheduling meetings, tracking participation and outcomes, providing mentor support and guidance, maintaining program records, and fostering strong relationships with all stakeholders to ensure a positive and impactful mentoring experience for every participant.
This role requires strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills, along with a passion for youth development, mentorship, and helping students achieve their academic, personal, and post-secondary goals.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
· Lead bi-monthly mentor program meetings and 1x weekly high school meetings
· Coordinate mentor-student matches for SY 26-27 to end in May
· Cultivate student interest/recruit for the Mentor Program and the Passport high school program
· Recruit Volunteer Mentors
· Match, Track, Support and Manage Mentor-Mentee information.
· Generate weekly mentor program participant support communications
· Maintains contact with, and provides updates to, assigned student mentors and families
· Serve as the lead program coordinator to lead 1x weekly meetings in Phoenixville SY 26-27 to end in May
· Delivers weekly program content in meeting at the high school for SY 26-27
· Participate in CCF student activities and field trips such as the College and Career Expo and other events
· Assists with evening and weekend program-related and recruitment events periodically
· Model professionalism
· Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Engagement
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, or currently in college with 24 credit hours. Have or are pursuing a Human Services or Education degree.
- Previous experience working with youth, ideally including the development and delivery of life skills or academic programs.
- Experience in counseling, youth development or mentoring, and/or working in, or with, underserved communities desired.
- Must be able to work in a dynamic, collaborative, professional office and school environment as well as autonomously from a satellite school office if assigned.
- Strong desire to be an advocate for, and work with, underserved students.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with an attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with an aptitude for active listening.
- Strong sense of integrity and proven ability to use good judgment.
- Fluency in Spanish desired.
- Proficiency in all MS Office programs with an ability to learn an Efforts to Outcome (ETO) database and web based educational tools.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
- Ability to move freely throughout a school building and office environment.
- Ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit on a bus for up to two hours.
- May be required to lift and carry maximum of 30 pounds.
