Duties
- Assist with the preparation and cleanup of construction sites, including loading and unloading materials using hand tools and power tools.
- Support carpenters, masons, and other tradespeople with tasks such as framing, formwork construction, rebar installation, and concrete pouring.
- Operate heavy equipment and machinery like concrete mixers, concrete pumps, and cutting tools safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate execution of construction plans.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials such as steel rebar, lumber, concrete forms, and masonry units while maintaining proper safety protocols.
- Aid in the installation of flooring, roofing, stucco, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, and other finishing work.
- Follow all construction workplace safety regulations diligently to maintain a secure environment for everyone on-site.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working on construction projects or in a related field is highly preferred.
- Basic mechanical knowledge combined with familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and blueprint specifications accurately.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes is a plus but not required.
- Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence specific to construction workplaces.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Experience with concrete finishing techniques such as pouring, cutting, formwork construction, plastering, caulking, and restoration work is advantageous.
