Summary
Thomas C. Wilson, LLC. is looking for a dedicated Purchasing Clerk to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing prospective suppliers, managing procurement processes and ensuring inventory levels meet the demands of the business. This role requires a manufacturing and/or mechanical background, strong negotiation skills and experience with ERP systems such as Syspro or similar, to heighten purchasing strategies and enhance supply chain efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quantity, cost, and reliability
- Monitor supplier's performance and manage relationships
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and pricing
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers
- Determine and source necessary material, equipment, etc., ensuring they meet job specifications and budgetary constraints.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements
- Prepare and maintain inventory and procurement records
- Utilize MRP (manufacturing resource planning) to assist with procurement
- Utilize and maintain the ERP system by updating EBQ, safety stock and selecting the right vendor to meet the deadlines
Skills and Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in the manufacturing/mechanical industry required
- Warehouse background required
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles including sourcing, inventory control and vendor management required.
- Associate degree preferred
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
