The Position:
Gibbet Hill is seeking a skilled an experienced Prep Cook to join our restaurant team. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking ingredients, as well as assisting with food production and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. The Prep position is daytime hours, primarily 8am-4pm, with shifts available weekdays and weekends.
Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for dishes, including cutting, chopping, and measuring ingredients

Follow recipes and directions provided by the head chef to ensure that all dishes are prepared consistently and to high quality standards

Work with other kitchen staff members to ensure that all elements of the meal, including sides and sauces, are prepared in a timely manner

Ensure that all food is prepared and presented in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines

Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including proper storage and labeling of all food items

Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment, including knives, cutting boards, and food processors

Ensure that all food waste is minimized and disposed of properly
Requirements:

Prior relevant experience as a prep cook or similar role preferred.

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift 50 lbs. continuously

Strong knife skills and ability to work efficiently with kitchen equipment.

Strong communication skills, ability to follow direction and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
