Location: In-person role, Douglas County, MN (no relocation package available)
Position Purpose
The Marketing & Business Development Specialist plays a central role in driving growth for Studio 78 by combining effective marketing execution with direct business development. This position focuses on building awareness, strengthening client relationships, and generating a consistent pipeline of new opportunities. Early priorities will include cross-selling additional services to current clients and developing outbound campaigns to attract new prospects in Studio 78’s key industries. As sales activity grows, this role will expand to provide sales assistance and client care support, helping ensure Studio 78 maintains its high standards of service and long-term client partnerships.
Responsibilities
The Specialist will take ownership of Studio 78’s marketing and business development activities, working with the President to establish strategies and then independently implementing the steps needed to carry them out. This includes creating and executing marketing campaigns, coordinating Chamber of Commerce promotions, and developing outreach through LinkedIn, email, and community channels. A key short-term focus will be engaging current Studio 78 clients, introducing them to additional services such as digital signage, social media support, and content writing. Longer term, the role will also ensure a consistent marketing presence through website content, blog articles, and social media updates that position Studio 78 as a trusted leader in design, web, and digital signage.
This position requires hands-on use of marketing automation and analytics tools. The Specialist will regularly work in GA4, Google Search Console, CRM platforms, SEO tools, and emerging AI solutions to track performance, analyze outcomes, and recommend next steps. Day-to-day work will involve activities such as updating website and blog content, developing campaign reports, and interpreting data to adjust future efforts. As new opportunities develop, the role will also provide sales support by qualifying leads, scheduling follow-up calls, preparing proposals, and tracking progress through the sales funnel.
Client engagement is an ongoing responsibility. The Specialist will conduct check-ins with existing clients, strengthen relationships, and look for opportunities to align additional Studio 78 services with client needs. This role is client-facing and requires professionalism, relationship-building skills, and the ability to represent Studio 78’s core values in every interaction.
Qualifications
The minimum requirement for this position is a two-year associate degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, with a bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidates should have at least three years of relevant experience in marketing or business development and must be comfortable working directly with clients, leading outreach efforts, and generating measurable results.
Core Competencies
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can operate with autonomy once strategies are approved. They bring a sales-oriented mindset and thrive on generating new opportunities. They are highly organized, resourceful, and able to balance multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Proficiency with marketing automation tools, website content systems, SEO platforms, CRM solutions, GA4, Google Search Console, and AI-powered marketing tools is expected. Just as important, this person must be a relationship builder who contributes to Studio 78’s culture of trust and client care.
Growth Potential
This position begins on a part-time basis of 15–20 hours per week, with the expectation that hours and responsibilities will expand as sales growth allows. The role offers an opportunity to shape Studio 78’s future growth strategy and to take on increased responsibility over time.
