We are seeking an experienced Travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a busy hospital imaging department in Maryland. This position offers the opportunity to perform a wide variety of advanced nuclear medicine procedures using state-of-the-art imaging technology while working alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team. Candidates with strong independent scanning skills and experience in high-volume hospital settings are encouraged to apply. First-time travelers with exceptional experience may be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of Nuclear Medicine procedures for adult and geriatric patients.
- Conduct Nuclear Stress Tests, HIDA Scans, VQ Scans, Biliary Studies, Lymph Injections, and Amyloid Studies.
- Perform SPECT imaging, Bone Scans, Thyroid Studies, Gastric Emptying, MUGA, DEXA, Renal Flow, and Liver Imaging.
- Prepare, administer, and safely handle radiopharmaceuticals while following radiation safety standards.
- Operate GE Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment and maintain high-quality diagnostic imaging.
- Start and maintain IV access as needed for nuclear medicine procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure excellent patient care.
- Float within the imaging department and affiliated facilities as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine experience (strong 1-year candidates may be considered).
- ARRT (N) or ARRT (R) required.
- NMTCB Certification required.
- State License required.
- AHA BLS Certification required.
- Experience performing Nuclear Cardiology and advanced Nuclear Medicine procedures.
- Strong independent scanning skills with minimal orientation required.
- Epic experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous hospital or teaching hospital experience.
- Experience with GE Nuclear Medicine equipment.
- Knowledge of SPECT imaging, Nuclear Cardiology, and advanced diagnostic procedures.
Schedule Details
- Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
- 40 hours per week
- Every other weekend on-call (Saturday or Sunday)
- Weekday on-call twice weekly (4:00 PM–10:00 PM)
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Black scrubs required
