Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dog Kennel Technician to join our team and ensure the well-being and comfort of our canine residents. In this vital role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional pet care, maintaining clean and safe kennel environments, and assisting with dog handling, grooming, and training activities. Your enthusiasm for animals and commitment to compassionate care will help us place assistance dogs with people living with disabilities. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals in a dynamic, dog-focused environment. THIS IS A HIGHLY FLEXIBLE POSITION THAT WILL WORK AROUND OTHER SCHOOL/WORK SCHEDULES WITH MORNING AND EVENING AND WEEKEND SHIFTS AVAILABLE.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for dogs, including feeding, watering, exercise, and administering medications as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, common areas, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment
- Assist with basic dog training exercises to promote good behavior and socialization
- Monitor dogs for signs of illness or distress and report any concerns to supervisors
- Support pet grooming activities such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming when required
- Engage with dogs through playtime, and enrichment activities to promote mental stimulation and happiness
Requirements
- Prior experience in dogs, horses, or livestock is highly preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with large dogs
- Passion for animal welfare and a positive attitude toward teamwork in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
