The Strength and Conditioning Coach leads and oversees the school’s strength and conditioning program for student-athletes and other students participating in fitness training. This role focuses on improving athletic performance, reducing injuries, and promoting lifelong health and wellness.
The coach designs and implements training programs throughout the year, supervises conditioning classes and the fitness center, and partners closely with coaches and athletic training staff to support team goals and individual student development. The Strength and Conditioning Coach also promotes safe use of equipment and helps maintain a positive, inclusive training environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and implement strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes during preseason, in-season, and offseason periods.
Develop training plans for varsity-bound and college-bound student-athletes.
Supervise conditioning classes, team training sessions, and individual student workouts.
Collaborate with coaches and athletic department staff to support team training goals and student development.
Work with athletic training staff to support rehabilitation and return-to-play plans for injured athletes.
Maintain the fitness center, including organization, equipment upkeep, and safety procedures.
Help assess equipment and facility needs, including recommendations for purchases and maintenance.
Track student participation and progress in conditioning programs.
Provide guidance and professional development support to coaches related to strength and conditioning.
Communicate with faculty and staff regarding student and adult fitness programming as needed.
Assist with game day management and other athletic department responsibilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field.
Current professional certification such as NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
Knowledge of strength training principles and ability to teach proper technique.
Experience working with high school students preferred.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with students, coaches, faculty, and athletic training staff.
Strong judgment and ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.

SALARY RANGE
$42,000 to $50,000. Please note that the quoted salary range is not a guarantee of what the final salary offer might be. Variables include years of work experience, industry-specific experience, education level, etc.

The Athletics Department is a busy work environment in which there is a significant amount of personal interaction.
