Duties
- Assemble components and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and specialized industrial tools according to detailed schematics and blueprints
- Interpret technical drawings, mechanical blueprints, and production documents to ensure accurate assembly procedures
- Measure parts with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions
- Conduct quality checks using measuring instruments and visual inspections to ensure assemblies meet specifications
- Solder electrical connections when required, following safety protocols and technical guidelines
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently to maintain a safe working environment during all assembly activities
- Handle manual tasks including lifting, positioning, and maneuvering components safely while adhering to proper manual handling techniques
Skills
- Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for mechanical and Electrical assembly
- Experience with precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret manufacturing instructions and production documents
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and specialized industrial tools for assembly tasks
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and apply shop math in measurements and calculations
- Knowledge of soldering techniques for electrical or electronic components when necessary
- Familiarity with machining processes and the use of precision measuring instruments for quality assurance
