Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly following established recipes and menu plans
- Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene throughout all kitchen activities
- Handle food with proper techniques to ensure freshness and quality during storage, handling, and serving
- Support cooking processes by chopping, mixing, portioning, and plating dishes efficiently
- Contribute to menu planning by suggesting ideas for daily specials or improvements based on customer preferences
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly
- Serve food in a professional manner, ensuring timely delivery to customers or dining areas
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food service environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food handling procedures, safety standards, and sanitation practices is essential
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, cooking techniques, and food industry operations is highly desirable
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with culinary tools are beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Prior restaurant or catering experience will be considered an asset
