Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time Childcare Assistant to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will support the development and well-being of young children by assisting lead teachers in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, including preschool and toddler care.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment conducive to learning and play.
- Engage with children through play, educational exercises, and social interactions to encourage their emotional and cognitive growth.
- Observe and document children’s progress, behaviors, and needs to inform teaching strategies and communicate with parents or guardians as needed.
- Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in accordance with legal requirements.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by applying inclusive teaching practices and working closely with specialists when necessary.
- Maintain current certifications such as pediatric first aid and CPR to respond effectively in emergencies.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and behavior management techniques.
- Certification in first aid, pediatric first aid, or CPR is required; ongoing training is encouraged.
- Familiarity with special education strategies and experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, children, and families.
- Ability to follow safety protocols diligently and adhere to mandated reporting laws.
- Passion for nurturing young minds and supporting their growth through engaging activities and compassionate caregiving.
