American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a 13-week travel contract at a heart hospital in Austin, TX, requiring both ARDMS and RVT credentials.

Work in an imaging services department within an acute care heart hospital setting
-
High-acuity patient population with stroke and trauma cases
-
Unit staffed by 40+ imaging techs; day shift includes 2 leads and 4+ techs per shift depending on modality
-
Equipment includes GE, Philips, and Siemens platforms

Three 12-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
-
One weekend of call per month: 12 hours overnight on Friday, and 24 hours each on Saturday and Sunday

Minimum 1 year of experience in ultrasound/sonography; allied candidates must have active experience within the last 6 months

Both ARDMS (RDMS) and RVT credentials required to work at this facility

BLS (AHA or ARC accepted) required; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start

TMB (Texas Medical Board) license required if applicable

Stroke and trauma imaging experience required

Experience working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSN accepted

One professional reference required

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible for this position

Strong scanning skills and the ability to remain calm and professional in high-acuity situations are essential

A team-player attitude and flexibility are highly valued in this role

Scrub colors required: olive top and black pants

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
