General Summary:
The Farm Manager will work closely with the Director of the Community Gardens and Urban Farm at the Cathedral of First Congregational Church of Los Angeles to manage all operations of the Gardens/Farm spaces and coordinate weekly volunteer engagement.
Position: Full Time (40 hours/week); Hours may vary Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend hours and evening events are required. Regular Sunday hours required, in addition to occasional Saturdays and evenings, as dictated by Garden & Farms schedule.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Supervisor.)
· Supervision and maintenance of Community Gardens & Urban Farm.
· Daily operational management of Gardens & Farm, including planting schedules (both companion and consecutive), weeding, irrigation, pest management, tree management, seed propagation, composting, and sourcing/ordering.
· Oversee volunteer management for Workdays/Workshops, Harvest Days, Educational Programing, and Special Events.
· Partner with HR on volunteer background checks and required trainings as needed.

· Keen knowledge and expertise in horticulture, soil, integrated pest management, planting schedules, companion planting, composting systems, and community gardens and urban farming.
· Excellent communication and people skills, time & team management skills, and detail oriented.
· Driven by compassion, curiosity, community building, social and food equity.
· Able to work with diverse peoples in a school and church environment.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe, Google Drive, and IG

Education and Experience:
· At least two years of Community Gardens or Farm management experience.
· Preferred: College degree in Environmental Science, Agriculture, Biology, Nutrition, or equivalent, or the equivalent hands-on experience.
A current California Driver’s License and current automobile insurance coverage.

Pay: $72,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
