Worship Leader Job Description
Position: Worship Leader
Reports to: Worship Team Leader
Goals: To serve under the leadership of the Worship Team Leader, and to
coach/mentor/train the vocalists on the worship team. Also, to be one of the leaders
upfront onstage, leading the congregation in worship.
Details:
- The worship culture at Vision is an extremely important part of who we are as a church. It is a combination of honoring and celebrating God, and also a time to lift the faith of people in our church.
- It is important to have the right balance of these elements: excellence, heart/authenticity, and sensitivity to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
- Serves alongside the Worship Team Leader to mentor other vocalists on the worship team. Note: scheduling of these team members will be taken care of by the Worship Team Leader.
- Serves to shepherd the people at Vision Church during worship.
- Vocal talent is important in this role, both to perform and sing, and also to evaluate/coach other vocalists.
- It is important for this person to minister and worship out of a place of overflow, which comes from a healthy personal relationship with Jesus and a healthy lifestyle.
- It is also important for this person to have the self-discipline to worship outside of Vision services–to be intentional about participating in private worship, and not always leading worship.
Time expectations:
- Sundays: 8 a.m.-12 p.m. (will vary as the number of services on Sunday grows).
- Be in place and ready for run-through at 8:15 a.m
- Participate in the church-wide VIP meeting at 9:15 (this meeting is led by the Lead Pastor).
- Participate in the Production Team VIP meeting at 9:30 (this meeting is led by the Worship Team Leader).
- Be ready to lead the church in the worship service that starts at 10:00.
- Be available to mingle with people after the service.
- Other hours as needed to personally prepare to lead worship, and for team meetings listed above. Meetings with the Worship Team Leader will vary based on needs, but should normally be able to take place virtually or by phone.
Stipend amount:
Pay: $200.00 per week
