Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in meal assembly according to established recipes and standards
- Cook a variety of dishes with precision, ensuring consistency and presentation quality
- Support menu planning by suggesting improvements and new ideas based on culinary trends and guest preferences
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols at all times
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, portioning, and garnishing
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and storage areas to uphold health standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods and support catering or special event needs when required
Experience
- Previous experience in a food service environment such as restaurants, catering, or culinary settings is preferred
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques are highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices is essential
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry standards will set you apart
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior kitchen experience in a restaurant or food service setting is advantageous for success in this role
