Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including private homes, assisted living facilities, and group homes. This role is vital in promoting independence, ensuring safety, and enhancing the quality of life for those receiving care. Duties
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status or behavior
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Support patients with memory care, dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive impairments through engagement and supervision
- Operate medical equipment including Hoyer lifts, wheelchairs, and other assistive devices safely
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, observations, and progress in compliance with healthcare standards
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop or update personalized care plans
- Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive environment for residents or clients
Skills
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home environments, or group homes
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly preferred
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Attention to detail in medication administration and care documentation
- Ability to work independently while following established care plans and protocols
- Compassionate attitude with a focus on respectful and dignified patient support
