Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management protocols.
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency.
- Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed according to dental x-ray safety standards.
- Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
- Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit.
- Operate dental equipment such as intraoral cameras, digital radiography systems, and patient management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix to streamline clinical workflows.
- Support the dental reception team by managing appointment scheduling through patient management software and assisting with administrative tasks as needed.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with a solid understanding of general dentistry procedures.
- Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, dental terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care.
- Hands-on experience with dental instrument processing, sterilization techniques, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and oral surgery procedures enhances your ability to support diverse patient needs.
- Ability to accurately perform dental x-ray imaging while adhering to safety protocols for radiation exposure.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with the dental team and providing excellent patient management.
