Gutter Ninja is seeking a reliable Construction Helper to support our exterior construction crews. This role assists with the installation and repair of seamless gutters, soffit, fascia, siding, and related exterior work on residential and light commercial properties in the St Pete and surrounding area. The position involves physical outdoor work and is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the trades.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead installers with job site preparation, including unloading materials and setting up equipment
- Help with equipment setup and tear-down (ladders, scaffolding, material staging, jobsite cleanup)
- Perform light ladder work and assist with material handling at height under direct supervision
- Use power tools including cordless drills, impact drivers, and metal shears/tin snips for cutting and fastening
- Cut, measure, and stage gutter, soffit, fascia, and trim materials
- Assist with fastening and installing gutters, downspouts, soffit panels, fascia boards, and related exterior components
- Keep the job site organized, clean, and free of debris throughout the day
- Load and unload trucks; organize tools and materials at the end of each day
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient crew operations
Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions (heat, humidity, occasional rain)
- Comfortable with basic ladder work and working at heights under supervision
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and perform physical labor throughout the day
- Basic familiarity with hand and power tools (drill, metal shears preferred but will train)
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a small crew
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen (if required)
Preferred (but not required)
- Prior experience in construction, roofing, or exterior work
- Knowledge of basic measuring, cutting, and fastening techniques
- Experience with aluminum or vinyl exterior products
