Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatrics with precision and professionalism
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly according to infection prevention management protocols
- Take high-quality dental x-rays and utilize 3D scanners to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
- Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care, especially for pediatric patients
- Maintain dental instrument processing standards, including sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold the highest infection control standards
- Support front desk operations as needed by assisting with patient management software, scheduling appointments, and providing excellent customer service as a dental receptionist
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Dental Assistant (DA) with current licensure where applicable
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment, preferably with pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures
- Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques including X-ray procedures
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with patient management software is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dental equipment operation, dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic technique
- Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently and confidently
- Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatrics
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health care and treatment plans while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
