MetalSolutionsHoldings.com
This is a platform-level President role intended to ultimately lead multiple manufacturing businesses across MSH. The President will work directly with ownership and will have responsibility for P&L performance, commercial growth, operating leadership, talent, and integration across the platform as it expands through M&A.
The role begins with our first operating company, Pen Manufacturing in Anaheim, CA (www.pen-mfg.com), where the immediate mandate is to help drive the business to strong profitability, strengthen the commercial organization, and manage the site leadership team.
As MSH acquires additional businesses, the role will expand from leading the Pen to managing and developing Site Leaders across multiple U.S. manufacturing locations.
Pen Manufacturing is a prominent player in the sheet metal, machining and welding fabrication industry, renowned for
delivering precision-engineered solutions. We are a fast growing and fast paced manufacturing company focused on
Water Infrastructure, Roads/Bridges, Aerospace and many more industries.

-
Help individual businesses evolve from traditional job shops into higher-value manufacturing partners.
-
Identify opportunities to cross-sell capabilities and customers across MSH companies.
-
Establish a common operating framework across MSH while preserving what makes each business successful.
-
Drive improvements in gross margin, labor efficiency, throughput, quality, on-time delivery, and working capital.
-
Build strong Site Leaders and Plant Managers rather than personally managing every production issue.
-
Create accountability around job-level profitability and estimated-versus-actual performance.
-
Identify bottlenecks in people, equipment, systems, and processes and ensure they are resolved.
-
Work directly with ownership to evaluate potential acquisitions.
-

-
Recruit, develop, and manage high-performing Site Leaders and functional executives.
-
Build a culture of urgency, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
-
Establish succession plans and strengthen management teams at acquired companies.
-
Create an organization capable of operating multiple businesses without requiring ownership to manage day-to-day operations.
We are looking for an operator first.
The ideal candidate has:
-
10+ years of senior leadership experience in manufacturing, industrial services, or a closely related industry.
-
Experience as a President, CEO, COO, Division President, General Manager, or similar P&L leadership role.
-
Direct responsibility for a meaningful P&L, including revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, and cash flow.
-
A demonstrated record of growing revenue and improving profitability.
-
Strong commercial instincts and comfort working directly with customers and sales teams.
-
Experience managing operations through strong plant and site-level leaders.
-
Experience building management teams and holding executives accountable.
-
Strong understanding of manufacturing economics, including labor, material, utilization, capacity, job costing, and gross margin.
-
Ability to move comfortably between the shop floor, customer meetings, financial reviews, and board-level discussions.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:
-
Metal fabrication
-
Precision machining
-
Sheet metal
-
Welding and fabrication
-
Contract manufacturing
-
Aerospace & defense manufacturing
-
Industrial equipment
-
Data center or infrastructure manufacturing
-
Engineered-to-order / build-to-print manufacturing
-
Multi-site manufacturing
-
Private equity-backed or acquisition-driven businesses
-
M&A diligence and post-close integration
Prior M&A experience is valuable, but we would rather hire an exceptional manufacturing operator with strong commercial and P&L instincts than a professional dealmaker who has never truly run a business.
Over time, the Platform President should make Metal Solutions Holdings capable of owning and operating multiple high-performing manufacturing businesses under one platform.
Success means:
-
Strong organic revenue growth
-
Expanding EBITDA and cash flow
-
Better gross margins and operating discipline
-
Strong Site Leaders running each business
-
Increased exposure to attractive end markets and strategic customers
-
Successful acquisition integrations
-
Shared capabilities and commercial opportunities across MSH
-
A scalable operating model capable of supporting continued acquisitions
The ultimate goal is to build Metal Solutions Holdings into a differentiated, scaled metal manufacturing platform rather than simply a collection of independent job shops.
This is an opportunity to take an executive role in building a manufacturing platform from an early stage.
You will have the ability to influence:
-
Which businesses we acquire
-
How we operate them
-
Which markets we pursue
-
How we allocate capital
-
Which leaders we hire
-
How the organization is structured
-
What Metal Solutions Holdings ultimately becomes
For the right operator, this is an opportunity to build a significant metal manufacturing company rather than inherit a mature corporate structure.
Competitive executive compensation consisting of:
-
Base salary
-
Performance-based incentive compensation
-
Meaningful long-term equity participation
Compensation will be structured to strongly align the Platform President with the long-term growth in value of Metal Solutions Holdings.
This role will initially require significant hands-on involvement with Pen Manufacturing in Southern California and regular presence at MSH operating companies.
Candidates should be comfortable spending meaningful time inside our manufacturing facilities and traveling as the platform expands.
This is not a remote executive position.
