Duties
- Develop and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with state laws and educational standards to meet each student's unique needs.
- Deliver engaging lessons across core subjects such as literacy, math, and communication skills, incorporating educational technology and instructional modifications.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques tailored for students with special needs and neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Collaborate closely with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to support comprehensive student development.
- Conduct assessments and monitor student progress using standardized testing and formative evaluations to inform instruction.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians through meetings and written updates to foster strong home-school partnerships.
- Implement early intervention strategies for preschool-aged children and provide guidance on childhood development milestones.
Details:
- 10-months position
- Teach 3 inclusion classes and 2 resource classes
- 2 preparation periods and a duty-free lunch
- Caseload of approximately 10–15 students
- We have a Special Education Case Manager on staff who oversees compliance and provides departmental support;
- The teacher will be responsible for managing their own caseload, including writing IEPs, completing required documentation, progress monitoring, and attending IEP meetings.
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
