The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is an agency in the Executive Branch of California State Government. It was created in 1970 by the Ryan Act and is the oldest of the autonomous state standards boards in the nation. The major purpose of the agency is to serve as a state standards board for educator preparation for the public schools of California, the licensing and credentialing of professional educators in the State, the enforcement of professional practices of educators, and the discipline of credential holders in the State of California.
Effective July 1, 2025, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the temporary Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee receive a temporary reduction in pay in exchange for PLP 2025 leave credits. The temporary salary reduction percentage and the number of PLP 2025 leave credits are based on the position’s associated bargaining unit. The salary range(s) included in this job advertisement do not include the temporary salary reduction.

Statement of Qualifications Questions
1. Describe a situation where you led, mentored, coached, trained, onboarded, or developed employees or coworkers. Explain how you established expectations, promoted accountability, addressed performance concerns or development opportunities, and supported employee success. What was the outcome?
2. Describe a situation where you used workload statistics, production data, trend analysis, reports, or other operational information to identify a problem, allocate resources, establish priorities, improve performance, or support a management decision. Explain your analysis, the actions you took, and the results achieved.
3. Describe a process improvement, workflow enhancement, automation effort, system implementation, or operational improvement that you initiated, led, or significantly contributed to. Explain the issue being addressed, your role, how you gained support for the change, and the measurable impact of the improvement.
4. Describe a situation where you were responsible for interpreting, applying, explaining, or providing guidance regarding laws, regulations, policies, procedures, or other complex requirements. How did you ensure accuracy, consistency, compliance, and appropriate decision-making? What was the outcome?
5. Based on your education, training, and professional experience, explain how you are prepared to successfully perform the duties of a Supervisor I. Include examples that demonstrate leadership, accountability, staff development, operational oversight, analytical decision-making, and your ability to support organizational goals through effective supervision.
