Overview
We are a small buisness looking for help around our facility. As a Kennel Attendant you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable space for pets while ensuring their well being through attentive handling and care. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a positive experience for both pets and their owners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals daily, develop valuable skills, and contribute to a compassionate pet care community.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive pet handling, including feeding, walking, and supervising playtime to ensure animals are happy and healthy
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through regular sanitization and organization to promote animal health and safety
- Assist with pet boarding procedures, ensuring each animal’s needs are met during their stay
- Handle animal restraint safely during grooming, veterinary procedures, or cleaning activities
- Support pet grooming activities such as brushing or bathing to enhance animal comfort and hygiene
- Monitor animal behavior closely to identify signs of stress or illness and report concerns promptly
- Assist with outdoor work duties such as yard cleaning, dog walking, and ensuring secure fencing for outdoor play areas
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets’ needs and behaviors
- Participate in team lifting when moving large or heavy kennels or supplies safely
Experience
- Experience in pet sitting or pet care facilities demonstrating responsibility for animals’ well being
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior management is a plus
- Previous kennel experience or working in animal handling roles
- Familiarity with pet grooming, sanitation practices, and animal restraint methods is preferred
- Outdoor work experience involving animals or yard maintenance is beneficial
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work collaboratively within a team environment
