We are seeking an experienced Presale Design Architect to join a growing technology organization. This position plays a key role in both pre-sales and post-sales activities, partnering with sales teams, technical teams, vendors, and customers to design and implement technology solutions that meet business needs.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with excellent customer-facing and communication skills. This individual will help evaluate customer environments, identify technology needs, design solutions, scope projects, and support successful implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with sales teams during the pre-sales process to evaluate customer needs and design appropriate technology solutions.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers by providing technical leadership, recommendations, and strategic guidance.
- Attend customer and sales meetings as the technical subject matter expert.
- Design solutions involving networking, cybersecurity, data center infrastructure, cloud technologies, Microsoft solutions, virtualization, collaboration, and end-user computing.
- Evaluate existing customer environments and recommend infrastructure improvements and technology solutions.
- Develop technical designs, project scopes, and implementation strategies.
- Create Statements of Work (SOWs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), and professional services estimates.
- Work with technology vendors and partners to develop solutions, demonstrations, and Proofs of Concept.
- Assist with technical evaluations of prospective Managed IT Services customers.
- Clearly communicate technical concepts, recommendations, and solution benefits to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay current on emerging technologies, vendor solutions, industry trends, and best practices.
- Collaborate with Sales, Account Management, Service Delivery, and technical teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Support implementation and troubleshooting of customer infrastructure, network, and security solutions as needed.
- Adapt to changing priorities, customer needs, and project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales or customer-facing technology role.
- 5+ years of experience supporting, implementing, or troubleshooting IT infrastructure.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- Industry-recognized professional or expert-level technical certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of networking, security, data center, and infrastructure technologies.
- Experience with technologies such as:
- Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN)
- Microsoft Azure and cloud computing
- Virtualization technologies
- Cybersecurity solutions
- SAN and iSCSI
- End-user computing
- Collaboration technologies
- Advanced expertise in one or more infrastructure or technology focus areas strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to create and interpret network diagrams, rack elevations, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Visio.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and customer-facing communication skills.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Ability to travel approximately 25–50%, depending on customer and business needs.
