Responsibilities

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to strict food safety and sanitation standards
- Assist in food prep activities such as slicing, dicing, portioning, and plating to streamline kitchen operations
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
- Follow recipe adherence and portion control guidelines for consistency across all dishes
- Support meal preparation for catering events or special functions as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on food preparation and cooking
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient handling
- Knowledge of safety standards in production, food handling procedures, and food safety management practices
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation processes
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff
- Dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required; a passion for culinary arts is essential
- Prior catering or food industry experience preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is valued
