Job Title: Full-Time Optician
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Optician to join our team in a full-time role in our Ebensburg office. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and optical service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients in selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses based on prescription, lifestyle, and personal preferences
- Perform accurate optical measurements (PD, seg height, frame fit, etc.) and review all lens options
- Educate patients on lens features, coatings, and contact lens options
- Verify and explain vision insurance benefits, including coverage for exams, glasses, and contact lenses
- Enter orders for glasses, contact lenses, and exams into the practice management system and generate appropriate charges
- Submit orders through optical labs and insurance portals
- Adjust, repair, and troubleshoot eyewear as needed
- Track and check in incoming eyewear and contact lens orders; coordinate patient notifications for pickup
- Dispense glasses and contact lenses, ensuring proper fit and patient satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the optical area
- Manage frame inventory, including restocking, merchandising, and tracking
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an optician or in an optical/medical office preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and order entry
- Knowledge of vision insurance plans is a plus
- ABO certification preferred but not required
Schedule & Requirements:
- Full-time position
- Daytime weekday hours only
- Must be flexible and willing to travel between both office locations
