We are seeking dependable, safety-focused CDL drivers who take pride in their equipment, enjoy working as part of a team, and understand the importance of keeping construction projects running efficiently.
Position Summary
The CDL Class A Dump Truck Driver is responsible for safely transporting hot mix asphalt, aggregate, dirt, millings, and other construction materials between asphalt plants, job sites, quarries, and disposal facilities. This position works closely with paving and grading crews to ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Essential Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A dump truck, transfer truck, or truck and pup (experience preferred)
- Haul hot mix asphalt, aggregate, dirt, grindings, and other construction materials
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required DVIR reports
- Maintain accurate logbooks and required DOT documentation
- Load and unload materials safely while following company procedures
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, plant personnel, and field supervisors
- Assist paving and grading crews when waiting between loads, as needed
- Maintain clean, organized equipment and promptly report maintenance issues
- Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies
- Represent Anderson Striping & Construction professionally with customers, inspectors, vendors, and the public
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL)
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
- Acceptable driving record
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred
- Experience hauling asphalt and construction materials preferred
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours during peak construction season
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb into and out of equipment throughout the day
- Reliable transportation to and from work
Preferred Qualifications
- Transfer truck or truck and pup experience
- Asphalt paving or heavy civil construction experience
- Experience operating construction equipment such as loaders, skid steers, or rollers
- Basic mechanical knowledge
