Responsibilities
- Assist patients with eyewear fittings, adjustments, and frame selections to ensure optimal comfort and style.
- Dispense lenses accurately, following prescriptions and utilizing optical laboratory experience.
- Operate EMR/EHR (Electronic Medical Records/Electronic Health Records) systems efficiently for billing and record keeping.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, health regulation policies, and clinical confidentiality policies while managing sensitive medical records.
- Support laboratory tasks including frame repairs, and aseptic technique to uphold quality standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries, explaining medical terminology clearly, and ensuring a positive experience.
- Collaborate with optometrists and healthcare professionals to support retail optometry services and clinic operations.
- Keep up-to-date with state healthcare regulations and medical coding practices relevant to optical care.
- Perform eyewear frame adjustments and optical laboratory work with precision to meet patient needs.
Experience
- Prior retail sales experience within an optical or optometry setting is highly preferred.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Revolution or similar platforms is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical billing, coding procedures, and health regulation policies enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Strong customer service skills combined with basic math proficiency are necessary for accurate dispensing and transactions.
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
