Position Summary
A company local to Brookhaven, Pa is looking to bring on an experienced Collections Specialist to join their Financial Services team. In this role, you will work with customers to resolve delinquent accounts while providing exceptional service and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with excellent negotiation skills and the ability to handle sensitive financial conversations professionally.
Responsibilities
- Contact customers regarding past-due accounts via phone, email, and written correspondence.
- Review account status and work with customers to establish appropriate repayment arrangements.
- Document all collection activity accurately within the company's system.
- Research and resolve account discrepancies and payment issues.
- Monitor assigned accounts and perform timely follow-up to encourage account resolution.
- Maintain a high level of customer service while balancing collection objectives.
- Ensure all collection activities are conducted in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve account-related concerns.
- Meet individual and team performance goals related to account resolution and quality standards.
- Perform additional administrative and departmental duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1+ years of collections, customer service, call center, banking, lending, or financial services experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to negotiate payment arrangements while maintaining a positive customer experience.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Experience working with collection software, CRMs, or financial systems is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
- Consumer or financial services collections.
- Banking, credit union, auto finance, mortgage, or lending experience.
- Familiarity with FDCPA and other applicable collection regulations.
- Experience meeting productivity and quality metrics.

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
