We seek a collaborative and strategic leader with strong business and financial acumen who excels at building partnerships, leading complex operations, and supporting informed decision-making. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator committed to continuous improvement, exceptional service, and fostering an environment that advances the college’s teaching, research, and outreach mission.
As the Business Manager, you will:
- Serve as the College’s Chief Business Officer and senior leader, partnering with the dean and leadership team to advance the college’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, University leadership, and campus partners to support college operations and initiatives.
- Provide strategic financial leadership by overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, and long-range financial planning to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with the Business Center to manage faculty, staff, and student appointments and ensure efficient personnel processes.
- Oversee facilities and infrastructure planning and maintenance by coordinating with University Operations, prioritizing facility improvement projects, supporting space planning and capital initiatives, and ensuring learning environments remain functional, safe, and well maintained.
- Oversee the operations of workshops, studios, and labs, including staff supervision, compliance with safety standards, oversight of major equipment purchases, and coordination of facility and equipment upgrades.
- Serve as the liaison to Information Technology Services to ensure reliable computer, classroom, and audiovisual technology and support services for faculty, staff, and students.

Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field plus seven (7) years of any combination of accounting, grants/contracts, financial or business management experience; OR
- Master’s degree in business, finance, or related field plus five (5) years of any combination of accounting, grants/contracts, financial, or business management experience. Equivalent experience/education considered.
- Two (2) years of experience supervising staff.
- Experience with SAP or similar large, integrated financial management system.
- Strong communication, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills required.
- Strong computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and virtual meeting platforms.
- Working knowledge of grants/contracts, accounting, budgeting, and personnel practices.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
- Experience in higher education or academic setting.
- Knowledge of architecture programs and/or profession.
- Experience with SAP, NuGrant, PeopleSoft, PeopleAdmin, and/or myRed.
