Job Title: Senior Accountant
Reports To: Finance Manager / Accounting Manager / Controller
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the organization's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. This role also provides financial analysis, mentors junior accounting staff, and assists with audits and budgeting.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage general ledger activities and ensure accurate journal entries.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and company policies.
- Prepare tax and statutory filings as applicable.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Analyze financial data and identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support financial decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
