Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Quality Control Manager to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for all products to meet rigorous Military and Commercial Marine manufacturing quality standards. You will be expected to perform precise inspections, measurements, and audits throughout the manufacturing process. Your expertise will help maintain compliance with industry regulations, uphold ISO standards, and guarantee that our products consistently exceed customer expectations. Duties
- Conduct dimensional and visual inspections using precision measuring instruments such as scales, and vision inspection systems to verify product specifications and proper installation.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, manufacturing documents, and technical drawings to assess conformity with quality standards.
- Perform quality audits in throughout the manufacturing accordance with ISO 9001, ABYC and NavSea as required to ensure compliance across all production stages.
- Help develop QC plans, procedures, documents and reports.
- Work with Production and engineering to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing process.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify root causes of problems and defects. Make recommendations and help implement corrective actions
- Maintain calibration records for measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, and vision systems to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Participate in regular quality management reviews and support internal/external quality audits to uphold regulatory compliance standards.
- Assist with training of production staff to educate them on expected and required standards and practices
Qualifications
- Proven experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment, with strong knowledge of QA/QC processes.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ABYC & NavSea standards and regulations, and regulatory/legal compliance standards relevant to marine manufacturing.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing documents accurately.
- Strong analytical skills for data collection, analysis, and problem-solving related to product quality issues.
- Basic math skills necessary for dimensional measurements and calculations involved in quality control tasks.
- Experience conducting quality audits and implementing quality standards in production environments.
- Ability to work effectively within a team while maintaining meticulous attention to detail under tight deadlines.
