Duties
- Prepare and assemble meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting creative ideas that meet nutritional and dietary needs
- Handle food preparation tasks including chopping, mixing, cooking, and plating with skillful knife techniques and attention to detail
- Maintain proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met at all times
- Serve meals efficiently while providing friendly, attentive customer service that enhances the dining experience
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food and assisting with setup and cleanup
- Follow all food safety protocols, including proper storage, sanitation, and temperature control
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide, with knowledge of meal planning and food preparation techniques
- Hands-on experience in the food industry, including restaurant or kitchen settings, demonstrating strong culinary skills
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices
- Proficiency in cooking methods, knife skills, and meal preparation techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for serving customers and collaborating with team members
- Experience in catering or large-scale food service is a plus but not required
