Job Title: Concrete Layout Surveyor
Location: Central and North Jersey.
Job Type: Full-Time / Contract
Pay: $30/hr. to $50/hr.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Concrete Layout Surveyor to join our team. This role is responsible for accurately laying out concrete structures and ensuring all work aligns with project plans, specifications, and industry standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and experienced in construction site surveying.
Schedule
- Full-Time.
- Monday Friday.
- Occasional extended hours during active pours or peak project periods.
Responsibilities
- Perform layout and staking for concrete foundations, slabs, walls, and structural components
- Interpret blueprints, site plans, and construction drawings
- Use surveying equipment (total stations, GPS, laser levels) to ensure precision
- Verify elevations, alignments, and dimensions before and during pours
- Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and subcontractors
- Conduct site measurements and maintain accurate records
- Identify and resolve layout discrepancies or conflicts
Requirements
- Proven experience as a layout surveyor in concrete or construction projects
- Proficiency with surveying tools and equipment. Robotic total station and data collector (Topcon or Trimble preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong math and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license (requirement) and ability to travel between project sites.
- Experience with CAD or layout software
- OSHA certification
