At NOTA, we provide safe, reliable transportation for seniors, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and low-income residents. As a Dispatcher, you’ll be a central part of keeping our service running smoothly, helping drivers stay on schedule, and ensuring riders get where they need to go safely and on time.
This position has a mixed schedule:
- M/T/Th 10:00 AM- 6:00 PM
- W/F 1:00 PM- 9:00 PM
- Must be flexible and available to work varying schedules, including occasional weekend shifts, to assist with coverage needs and staff absences.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign and schedule drivers for daily routes
- Monitor routes and make adjustments to ensure timely service
- Notify drivers of route changes or updates quickly and clearly
- Answer multi-line phone system calls professionally and courteously
- Track ridership records, reconcile fares, and maintain reports
- Support drivers and office staff to ensure smooth daily operations
- Perform other office duties as needed
- Cross-training as a driver is a plus (not required)
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and a team player
- Must be able to pass a FTA drug test and background check
Physical Requirements
- Sit for extended periods (6–7 hours/day)
- Use hands regularly for typing, phone, and radio
- Occasionally stand, walk, bend, or lift up to 20 lbs
