Key Responsibilities
The Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the consistent cleanliness, sanitation, and presentation of all shared spaces within a multifamily residential community. This role manages cleaning staff, maintains quality standards, and ensures common areas such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, and amenity spaces remain clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and visitors.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of leading a team to deliver a first-class living environment.
Candidate must speak both Spanish and English and have experience supervising teams across multiple locations or managing teams greater than 15 people.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Oversight
- Supervise, train, and support cleaning staff assigned to the property or portfolio.
- Conduct daily walkthroughs of common areas to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
- Assign daily tasks, create schedules, and adjust workloads based on property needs.
- Provide coaching and corrective feedback to maintain consistent performance.
Quality Control & Cleaning Standards
- Ensure daily cleaning tasks are completed, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and restroom upkeep.
- Verify high-touch surfaces—such as elevator buttons, railings, doorknobs, and light switches—are sanitized regularly.
- Oversee cleanliness of amenity areas (fitness centers, lounges, laundry rooms, courtyards, pool areas, etc.).
- Inspect and ensure windows, mirrors, and glass doors maintain a polished, streak-free appearance.
- Respond to urgent cleaning needs such as spills or damages to prevent safety risks or property deterioration.
Operational Coordination
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; submit timely restock requests.
- Ensure cleaning staff follow all safety protocols, including proper chemical handling and PPE usage.
- Coordinate with property management and maintenance teams to report hazards, damages, or repairs needed.
- Assist with developing or refining property cleaning procedures and checklists.
Resident & Staff Interaction
- Serve as a professional, courteous point of contact for residents or staff regarding cleanliness concerns.
- Communicate clearly with property management regarding updates, issues, or escalations.
Qualifications
- Experience
- Previous supervisory or lead role in janitorial, housekeeping, or facility maintenance required, preference for those with hotel or multifamily experience.
- Skills & Competencies
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining elevated cleanliness standards.
- Ability to schedule, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks independently.
- Working knowledge of professional cleaning products, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
- Comfortable using ladders or step stools when needed.
- Availability & Work Ethic
- Flexibility to adjust schedule based on property or staffing needs.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain consistency in routines and expectations.
- Experience in multifamily, hospitality, or commercial cleaning strongly preferred.
- Working Conditions
- Work primarily indoors with occasional outdoor tasks (e.g., cleaning courtyards or entryways).
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
- Interaction with residents and visitors, requiring professionalism and courtesy.
Pay
$23-29 per hour, depending on experience.
