Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management policies.
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper technique and adherence to dental x-ray safety standards.
- Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care.
- Process dental instruments following sterilization procedures using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
- Support patient management by providing clear instructions, answering questions about procedures, and ensuring a comfortable experience for all patients.
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling medical documentation, medical coding, and medical records with precision.
- Assist with dental equipment operation including 3D scanners and other advanced imaging tools to aid diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with the dental team by performing receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow when necessary.
- Uphold healthcare infection prevention and control standards through diligent infection control practices across all clinical activities.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with demonstrated knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
- Proven experience in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry preferred.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; experience with patient management software is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of dental x-ray techniques, sterilization procedures, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation practices, and medical coding standards relevant to dental care.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal workflow.
- Familiarity with dental equipment operation including 3D scanners and other advanced imaging devices is a plus.

Pay: $19.75 - $24.00 per hour
